RCI Cruise & Tour connects members to a wide network of global travel suppliers. Instead of only offering one travel product, RCI gives you access to cruise lines, tour operators, airlines, and hotel groups - so you can choose from thousands of holiday options worldwide, all in one place.
RCI Cruise & Tour operates within South African consumer laws, including the Consumer Protection Act (CPA). This ensures members have clear cancellation rights and understand how refunds, Points, and fees are handled when travel plans change.
Understanding the CPA “Cooling-Off Period”
In South Africa, the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) allows a 5 business day cooling-off period after making a booking.
What this means for you:
- You can cancel your booking within 5 business days
- You are entitled to a full refund, including:
- Your RCI Points
- Your exchange fee
💡 This gives you peace of mind if you change your mind shortly after booking.
RCI Cancellation Terms
RCI applies clear cancellation rules depending on when you cancel your booking.
Within 5 Days of Booking:
- Points are fully refunded
- Exchange fee is fully refunded
After 5 Days (Up to Check-In Date):
- Points are refunded
- Exchange fee is non-refundable
💡 This means you will lose the exchange fee, but your Points can still be returned.
Important Rules About Refunded Points
When Points are returned to your account:
- They will keep their original expiry date
- They are not extended or renewed
- If the Points have already expired:
- They cannot be reused
- They cannot be applied to future bookings
💡 Tips Before Cancelling
- Check your Points expiry date before cancelling
- Cancel within 5 days if you’re unsure about your booking
- Ask your RCI consultant about supplier cancellation policies
- Review your booking confirmation for specific terms
